On May 16, 2023, the first meeting of the Program Council of the Nicolaus Copernicus Thorunensis Portal took place at the University Library of UMK (Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń) in the new composition.
The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Toruń, Michał Zaleski, and the Vice-Rector for Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment of UMK, Professor Włodzimierz Jaskólski, who presented appointments to the members of the Council. During the meeting, the changes that occurred on the Portal were summarized, and plans for the future were discussed.

About the project
The NICOLAUS COPERNICUS THORUNENSIS Portal, dedicated to Nicolaus Copernicus, was launched on February 19, 2010, at the address copernicus.torun.pl, thanks to the collaboration of several institutions, including the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the City Municipality of Toruń, the Institute for the History of Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Provincial Public Library - Copernican Library, the Nicolaus Copernicus Museum in Frombork, and the District Museum in Toruń as partners.
In 2022, the editorial and administrative tasks were entrusted to the University Library in Toruń, which prepared a new version of the portal, giving it a modern appearance, making it compliant with the current Internet trends and recommendations in a responsive format, and adding new functionalities (including multilingual support and accessibility declaration) to improve its visibility to search engines.
